Description
EPOS's key philosophy and aspiration has always been the production of unique Swiss mechanical watches. This approach has been emphasized by high-quality decoration and finishing at every stage of production. The "Verso" watch is a logical consequence of the brand's evolution. Until now, beautifully decorated movements were only visible through the back of the watch. Therefore, EPOS designers decided to introduce a unique watch where mechanical functions are directly visible on the owner's wrist.
The EPOS 3435 "Verso" is a tribute to the EPOS 'Hundertwasser' watch, whose finishing by the famous Austrian painter Hundertwasser took over seven years. The unique model was introduced by EPOS in a limited edition in 1993. The watch featured two pairs of hands, front and back, with time "flowing" in the opposite direction on each of them.
EPOS designers combined the ability to view the beauty of the Unitas movement's reverse side with the artist's philosophy, and thus the EPOS 3435 "Verso" was born. To enable time reading, engineers had to move the hands to the back of the movement and reverse their direction of operation. This effect was achieved thanks to an innovative solution and the use of an additional gear wheel placed on the main bridge.
The next step was to correctly place the dial on the right side of the back of the movement and mount it on a three-point attachment. Since there was only space for 2 screws, an additional stabilizing layer was used at 2 o'clock to protect against external vibrations.
